Congratulations Elizabeth Lucason!!!
Adirondack Association 12 year old Elizabeth Lucason from Camden, NY completely controlled and out ran the competition at the JO XC National Championships in Hoover, AL on Dec. 10th. After a fall at the start for Elizabeth and several other runners the officials called for a restart. Within the first few hundred meters Elizabeth took the lead and never looked back. She dominated the field of top runners especially on the hill sections of the 3K course. Her winning time was 11:13.69. Also,of Elizabeth’s many accomplishments this season she is was named 2016 7th Grader of the Year by Tully Runners. http://www.tullyrunners.com/XC2016/AllStateGirls2016.htm

The Delmar Dash was spared by Mother Nature. Despite the early morning snow, conditions were sunny and nice by race time. The Grand Prix division leaders once again proved their prowess repeating wins in five of six divisions:

- Emily Bryans – Masters Women
- Beth Stalker – Age-Graded Women
- Eric MacKnight – Open Men
- Volker Burkowski – Masters Men
- Derrick Staley – Age-Graded Men

The one exception to the rule was Renee Tolan, who left for warmer climes and made it to the podium as third place masters woman in the highly competitive Carlsbad 5000. This is the same event where Bernard Lagat set a new Masters 5K World Record. Here’s a picture of them celebrating their successes.
